Bull Snake

Pituophis catenifer sayi

Description:

This snake was about 6 feet long with ligh brown upper body with draker "spots on top and dark "lines" on the side. The under body is much lighter. At first I thought it was a rattle snake, an easy mistake when you come across one of these not two feet away!

Habitat:

Found the snake in the high plateau of New Mexico. He was in a juniper tree enjoying the sun.

Nice snake!

I have removed this and a few other of your spottings from the Signs of Wildlife mission since that mission is for things like animal tracks, scat, feathers, and such, not actual organisms.

Happy spotting!
