Description:

The main body is a thallus and can only be a thallus when a fungus and an algae have formed. The bright red color gives this lichen the name British Soldiers.

Habitat:

Deciduous woodland and forest

Notes:

We found this in a ring of deer moss and other fungi and lichens.
