Bengal Tiger

Panthera tigris tigris

Description:

On a hot summer evening in Magadhi, all the vehicles were waiting with much anticipation for the Rajbhera trio to show up at the waterhole. The sighting was a guaranteed one since they had killed a Blue Bull nearby. The jungle sounded from all directions but there was no sign of the Rajbhera sub-adult tigers. Suddenly, a Langur sounded an alarm call - a sure sign that a tiger is close by. Minutes later, the Rajbhera sub-adult tigress walked across the dusty road and through the dense bamboo foliage, showed up at the waterhole - a little shy, a little overwhelmed seeing all the visitors that had come to see her. As she got to the waterhole and took her first sip of water, a pair of crows showed up and immediately scattered noticing the tiger. The Rajbhera cub herself was stunned looking at the crows and ended up making one of the funniest tiger faces I have ever seen!
