Three Horned Rhinoceros Beetle

Description:

These beetle is characterized by its horns, first 2 forward projecting horns on the thorax and 1 forward-upward projecting horn on th head. they also have distinct color of metallic dark brown to black. The size is about 5cm- 7cm from the tip of its hron down to the tip of its wing case, legs with very sharp claws.

Habitat:

Southeast Asia rainforest and palm plantations.

Notes:

I am luckily to see these beetle is being caught or stock in out wooden gate pole at home and have it free after been taking photos. These beetle also feeds on the juices of the palms.

Sorry, I should have been clearer what I meant. 50-70mm is probably the correct size since 50-70cm is longer than the longest known insects.

Thank you sir Sigg for the suggestion but the estimated size of the beetle is taken from a ruler measurement.

Impressive specimen, but I think you may need to correct the size you give in the description. Unless it's the size of a cat.
