Description:

The dice snake (Natrix tessellata) is a Eurasian nonvenomous snake belonging to the family Colubridae, subfamily Natricinae. The dice snake is found throughout much of Eurasia, and in Greece can be found the subspecies Natrix tessellata tessellata. The pictured snake was spotted in Prespa lake, Macedonia, Greece.
