Ace, the bald eagle hatched at Hueston Woods in the spring of 2013
The nest was in an area that was very difficult to see. By the time I found a vantage point, he was already hatched. I have been observing the parents since August of last year - as they courted (the female didn't come on the scene until late in the year), built the nest (we could see the general location from the lake's marina but not the nest itself), then they took turns on the nest as we assumed they were incubating eggs. When they started taking food to the nest, we assumed we had at least one eaglet.
WOW! Did you see Ace hatch? Im amazed!
