Crested Coral Fungus

Clavulina cristata

Description:

Bright white coral fungi with pointy branched tips.

Habitat:

Spotted in leaf litter in a nature reserve under mixed native and exotic species of trees.

Notes:

Clavulina cinerea also develop pointy tips and can be confused with more mature C.cristata, when they discolour with age.
Accepted name : Clavulina coralloides. Order: Cantharellales Family: Clavulinaceae
