American Pika

Ochotona princeps

Description:

A close relative of the rabbit and hare. Pikas live in higher elevations and are Herbivores. This one had a lot of character and like me, was curious.

Habitat:

Mountains of North Western America, usually found in boulder fields.

Notes:

Pika's are a good indicator of Global Warming. They can only survive about 6 hours in temperatures above 77 degrees.
