Sympetrum sanguineum
This dragonfly is difficult to distinguish from other Sympetrum. The males are red with black legs. I find nice the little red square they have near the tips of their wings
This small Dragonfly is seen in a wide variety of habitats, including lakes, ponds, canals and slow-flowing rivers. They are ambush predators, waiting on a prominent perch - such as a leaf or the top of a gate, until prey fly past, whereupon they will fly after it.
Ruddy Darter, because it has totally black legs and the snout is so much like Ruddy Darter
