Nine leathery brown mushrooms

Lentinus ciliatus Lev.

Description:

Nine mushrooms. Caps depressed, dark brown with lighter brown turned down margins, texture leathery, diameters 3 - 8 cm. Gills crowded, decurrent, creamy white, darkened to brown when specimen harvested. Stipes brown, leathery, bulbous, diameters 3 - 5 mm, heights 25 - 30 mm.

Habitat:

Forest floor in tropical coastal valley.

Notes:

Spotted growing on fallen log about 5 m off of Manoa Falls Trail.
