Fishing Spider

dolomedes tenebrosus

Habitat:

Canal/woodland habitat

Notes:

These are two different spiders in the same spotting. They were right next to each other on a fallen log during a night hike. I'm assuming one is a male, and one a female, but not sure how to tell which is which. There is a definite different between the two. The individual in the first photo was bit bigger than the one in the second. I love looking at these guys, but their size intimidates me. I don't think I could ever hold one:)
