Stink Bug Nymph Eating Monarch Caterpillar

Podisus, Danaus plexippus

Habitat:

Woodland habitat.

Notes:

Yesterday, I found a beautiful monarch caterpillar feeding on a solitary milkweed plant. Today, I happened to be hiking the same area, and when I went to check on it, I found it dead, oddly at a 90˙ angle (2nd pic). Upon closer examination, I found a unknown stinkbug nymph feeding on the caterpillar.
