Spartocera fusca
I saw them together on the same plant when I came back a few hours later. I think parental care is pretty normal for this species. http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2013/05/05/l... A few days later, there were five adults and five nymphs all on the same plant. There were also a lot of ants on the plant that seemed to show up around the same time that these leaf-footed bugs did.

Thanks Maria for the mission links. Didn't we have also a blog about parental care in insects??
Very nice spotting. There is a mission for parental care among insects: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8176... and another on parental care in general: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1116...
No idea! Try to google "parental care" and "bugs" or Coreidae", maybe you find something interesting (which it actually is). I know that some bugs have an interesting parental care habits.
Coreidae, Coreinae, Spartocerini, Spartocera fusca.
