Common Brushtail Possum (male)

Trichosurus vulpecula

Description:

I see you! Spotted across the rooftops, a large male Brushtail has found himself a cozy spot after a big night on the town. Under the eaves is as good a place as any to rest, but the exposed tail is of little concern. He's upwards of 10 meters above the ground. I know this is a large male because I've seen him on this roof at night. The males can be very aggressive and are not to be tangled with - just ask my cat. Information on the species can be found at one of my previous spottings in the same area - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/256...

Habitat:

Suburban Brisbane.

Notes:

Not the most epic of spottings, but hey, this is wildlife in the burbs.

I hope so, or perhaps its a warning for other brushies to stay away? It will make a nice addition to my Melbourne Cup 'noisy miner' hat. Haha!

Ha! Yep that's a brushtail... I wonder if there's a possum on the other end.
