Western Basilisk

Basiliscus galeritus

Description:

Males reach a length up to about 77.5 cm (30.5 in)

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

I spotted this lizard in the undergrowth just off the campground in Rio Claro reserve. I had to use the zoom because it was very skittish and I couldn't approach closely. It's a type of jesus christ lizard, able to walk on water.
