Treetop Bush Katydid

Scudderia fasciata

Description:

some kind of grasshopper or cricket or ???

Notes:

This was moving slowly and painstakingly up the wall of my house toward what looked like a spider's nest. It was an inch or two away when I looked away for a moment. When I looked back, it was gone..

Hi B8; I usually look through Bugguide to find who is in the area or search their images: http://bugguide.net/node/view/164

Thanks gatorfellows. Any idea which katydid specifically? Is it a Round-headed Katydid? The large red ovipositor seems distinctive.
