What a beautiful series of images! Congratulations Mohammed, this is our Spotting of the Day!
"What a stunning image! Our Spotting of the Day is a special sighting a pair of Black-crowned Sparrow-Larks (Eremopterix nigriceps) and their chicks. In this species found across northern Africa through the Middle East to north-western India, the male is recognizable by a bold pied head pattern, while the female has pale sandy brown colors. Their nest is a shallow depression on the ground beneath a shrub, and both sexes incubate the clutch of 2 to 3 eggs. When the chicks leave the nest, they separate and each adult becomes responsible for one chick, a behavior which may reduce the risk of predation".
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
