Stagmomantis carolina
Just when I was going to take pictures of an illusive large Butterfly, it got the "hold of death" from the local resident of my garden Passion Flower vine...the large green Preying Mantis!!...it was to high up to help the Butterfly.
This is my spotting # 300, proud of it!!

Thank you so much, ForestDragon, I was waiting for that, I will edit.
Gilma, Stagmomantis carolina goes in the Scientific Name section just under the common name when you are on the editing screen. :)
Thank you, AshleyM.Goncalves, a little sad because I love butterflies but Nature is like that.
Awesome shot!

Thank you, Sergio Monteiro.
Thank you so much, ForestDragon, I will give it a try and research.
Happy you liked the series.
Great catch! This is a female mantis from Genus Stagmomantis. Stagmomantis carolina (Carolina Mantis) is known to occur into Central America. I don't know if there are other species in that genus that do as well. Hope this helps! Thanks for sharing this amazing series.
Nice series!
Congratulations, Gilma.
