Brittle Sea Star (with video)

Amphiodia occidentalis

Description:

I found this juvenile brittle sea star after a Jr. Spotter pointed it out in a tide pool. The sea star clung to the rocks while the waves came up, then would scoot across the sand. We were amazed at how quickly this little star could move.
