Seagull is a generic term used for most species of Gull and is not actually a Common Name, which is used to identify specific species. In this picture you not only have a mix of ages, adult, immature and juvenile, but judging by the variation in sizes you may have more than one species.
Herring, California and Thayer's Gull are all very similar but adults can be separated by leg colour, being pink, yellow and orange/brown respectively.
Gulls often congregate in mixed flocks when resting and Terns can also be found within the flocks at times.
