Blackbelly Salamander

Desmognathus quadramaculatus

Description:

I am pretty sure that this is a blackbelly salamander. It was really big, for a salamander! I found it under a rock at the base of a waterfall.

Habitat:

Under a rock at the base of a waterfall in upper South Carolina

Size, range, habitat and look would support a blackbelly http://srelherp.uga.edu/salamanders/desq...
