Eurasian Red Squirrel

Description:

Some 20 cm of body length, roughly the same for the fluffy tail. Dark brown summer coating with no ear tufts, almost blackish appearance with white or cream chest and belly.

Habitat:

Seen in pine-cypress forest, near cemetery where a big colony is freely roaming. The forest is very close to beach, on outskirts of Cavtat, on Dubrovnik riviera (Croatia).

Notes:

This little rodent can be often seen roaming around the restaurant, located close to a very frequented beach, with no fear of people.
