Cucurbit Leaf Beetle

Description:

Chrysomelidae; Galerucinae; Luperini; Aulacophora lewisii Baly, 1886. I spot this beetle quite frequently around the farm and every time that I see it, I notice that the elytra don't completely cover the abdomen. So, that has become, for me, a simple and easy to remember identifying feature.

Habitat:

Spotted on foliage in a rice field which has been allowed to rest and grow wild this year.
