I visited the city of San Miguel de Allende and I found grasshoppers all over. There were two kind mainly. This is the smaller ones, about 4 cm long.

Habitat:

All over San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

The genus Melanoplus is commonly known as that of "spur-throated" grasshoppers. Many of them look nearly identical, but I am almost positive that this is a Red Legged.
