There are there in plenty in my tiled house. I have to remove one every alternate day. Is there a way to keep them from coming inside the house? Fist of all, how are they coming inside the house!!

Thanks a lot @Leuba Ridgway ... In villages of Tamilnadu most of the people usually sleeps in the mud floor even they wont use pillows ... while they sleeping the Braminy snakes which are very small and thin can get into their ears and possibly make them deaf by damaging their ear drums ... so you come to know the reason for the name... now the villages are some what developed and i haven't heard these type of incidents and the younger generation is not aware of these snake.

Great spotting, Arun ! It's interesting about them being unisexual. But why would a "blind snake" be called "deaf snake" in Tamil ? :)
