Sawfly Orchid

Ophrys tenthredinifera

Flowers about 2.5cm in diameter and 15cm tall. The flower resembles a sawfly, hence the name. Apparently, it attracts male bees of the Eucera genus, and not sawflies.

Among coastal scrub on limestone cliffs.
