Description:

Similar to Small Heath or Meadow Brown but I think there are other possibilities not in my book. Unfortunately the only picture I got of this one.

Habitat:

Lower slopes of mountain at 1,000 metres ASL.

Thanks Thanasis Samaras, I checked the other Coenonympha species listed for Spain and the hind wing spots are much clearer on those.
There are 20 Erebia species listed for Spain but only 4 illustrated and it does not look like any of those.

Seems to me that it is a Small Heath
