La focha es un ave acuática robusta, inconfundible por su color negro pizarra, con el pico blanco y un característico escudete frontal, también blanco. Sus patas son de color verde y tienen grandes dedos lobulados adaptados a la natación. Ambos sexos presentan igual aspecto siendo las hembras algo mayores. Vista de cerca el iris de sus ojos es de color rojo rubí.
En un estanque en Hampstead, Londres.
La focha es un ave agresiva, que defiende su territorio a base de peleas y luchas, en ocasiones encarnizadas, con los invasores. La actitud intimidatoria consiste en avanzar con la cabeza agachada y las alas levantadas presentando al invasor el pico blanco con el escudete en primer término.

No, Emma, is a composition. Two years ago it was only possible to put one spotting and I wanted to show what I had found. This was the beginning of Noah.
