Description:

Ants red and black, about 1/4 inch long. Lots of them. Very busy. Needles in picture are Douglas Fir needles (to give idea of size).

Habitat:

In and around large boulder, forested mountainside. On Pulpit Rock, part of area known to locals as "Elephant Mountain."
