Description:

Small light brown mushroom with a very thin stem and ripples on the cap. 3 other mushrooms of the same appearance grew near it, each about 6 inches apart.

Habitat:

Grassy yard, with no canopy covering it and plenty of sunlight.

As for your spotting, many mushrooms require a shot of the gills and potentially other information to successfully identify. Older specimens like this are also a bit of a challenge.
