Checkered beetle

Lemidia leoparda leoparda

Description:

Is this a checkered beetle (Cleridae). It seems to think it is a ladybird beetle. They are usually hairy but this is brighter and smoother than any I know of.

Habitat:

Found hilltopping and on flowers of prickly acacia.

Notes:

ID suggestion is from Ken Walker http://www.bowerbird.org.au/observations...

Thanks Ken.
Thanks Stephen Thorpe.
There are no images to be found of this one, which is the usual way we neophytes try to identify these species.
