Barred coral snake

Hemibungarus gemianulis

Description:

Locally called udto-udto. Hemibungarus is a genus of venomous elapid snakes commonly known as barred coral snakes. The Barred Coral Snake feeds on smaller snakes, especially little burrowing snakes like worm snakes and blind snakes. Barred coral snakes can be found in moist forests in lowlands and low hills, sometimes even venturing into nearby garden and agriculture to hunt small snakes as prey.

Habitat:

Crossing a concreted road at the middle of an upland light forest area.
