Green Darner

Description:

Body is 4" - 5" long. 6" wing span. Green body with brown ridge on the back.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard in Dallas/ Fort Worth area, 200 yards from retained pond. Temperature - high 50's F. Three were found on a potted succulent exposed to sunshine. None were found on a second potted succulent located in the shade. One was found on a patio umbrella.

Notes:

We had four of these dragonflies in our backyard this morning.
