Castor canadensis
Teeth marks indicating beaver activity on hardwood tree located on shore of lake. These tree trunks show beaver activity at three times. The oldest scars show where beaver ate completely through the bark but did not ring-bark the trees; the areas of activity have aged gray with time. In addition, there are two areas of recent activity; a large (light) area on the middle tree trunk and fresh teeth marks within the very recent area of activity.
