Marshy grassland
@Nuwan - I wish I did, but it was too quick. Hope I see it again soon
@Joe - BBRMH has a brownish back, I don't remember seeing any brown on this one though...
That's really close Joe, but i'm not still convinced! Orthetrum chrysis should be having "red nose" which is not clearly seen in this picture!
@disha, if you have more photos of this dragonfly, please upload..
I think I have found the solution!
First I withdraw from Scarlet Marsh Skimmer, as first I don't see any yellow on the thorax (it says scarlet/yellow) and second there are no blood red spots on the hind femura.
The, as I still reject the colour of Pink Skimmer, I searched and found in the same genus a species that is often confused with Pink Skimmer: Brown-backed Red Marsh Hawk, Orthetrum chrysis. Please have look, the colour fits perfectly, the thorax fits better too.... here the link: http://thaiodonata.blogspot.com/search/l...
I think it is a pink skimmer.

hmm.. You might be correct, but look at the wing base, it's reddish in Aethriamanta brevipennis..

Nuwan, Orthetrum pruinosum is the Crimson-tailed Skimmer, kind of violet/purple. I think this pictured one is red, hence Scarlet Marsh Skimmer...
