I'm willing to believe it's not Hogna, that was just a suggestion, but I can't be convinced that it's Trochosa ruricola. The markings on the legs and abdomen and the length of the legs are wrong, in my opinion.
Dear Alan, we checked on Hogna radiata before posting it...There are some small details on the head and the belly (and also the size) , wich made us believe it's not a hogna radiata, so we looked in other spider species, found in Greece. Trochosa fits better in that case.
