Crab

Description:

Tiny, almost translucent crabs with sand all over their bodies...perfect camouflage. Tiny circular homes in the sand( last two shots)

Habitat:

Miramar beach, Goa. What caught my eye were the perfectly circular holes (last 2 shots) on the beach. So I mounted a vigil...sudden swift movements confirmed my guess that there were tiny crabs in these holes. However, the crabs were sensitive to shadows (mine as I stood with camera poised...so I had to orient myself properly) and they were also sensitive to vibrations of footfall ( which was interesting give that waves were crashing on the shore barely a couple of feet away). The third problem was that the sand encrusted, practically invisible crabs were far-far swifter that I was...but anyway...got some shots.
