Hieracium venosum
The rosette of basal leaves are distinctly red-veined, and as you can see the backs of the leaves are the same purple-red. This specimen is covered in a soft downy but the leaves may also be smooth. It typically has a yellow dandelion-like bloom May-Sep.
Native Distribution: Ontario; New England south to Florida, west to Louisiana, and north to Missouri and Michigan. Native Habitat: Dry open woods, thickets, and clearings.
