Description:

These are similar to bananas but are not eaten raw. They are starchier and are usually eaten after being cooked. In puerto rico they are used to make chips and a variety of fritters like tostones , arañitas or rellenos. They are also used to make mofongo, amarillotos and pasteles puertorriqueños.

Habitat:

Subtropical and tropical habitat. Originated from south and southeast Asia.
