When I first saw a Three-spot Grass Yellow, a few years ago, I remember being puzzled by the common name because there are many spots on the wings of this little butterfly and I did not know which three were the ones that gave rise to the name. Philippine Lepidoptera mention in the caption under their picture of Eurema blanda vallivolans Butler, 1863 that there is a synonym - Eurema blanda mensia Fruhstorfer 1910.
