Fishing spider

Dolomedes sp.

Description:

Dark brown to light brown checkered pattern on long legs. Head and thorax are brown and the abdomen is a molted pattern of grey and brown with black lines. This is very much like the Dark fishing spider ( Dolomedes tenebrosus) but Washington state is out of it's range.

Habitat:

Spotted on rocks in the Umtanum creek. In some sections of the creek these spiders where everywhere.
