Crinifer piscator
This plantain-eater (a.k.a. grey, western or western grey plantain-eater) is a large arboreal bird, member of turaco family, reaching almost 50cm in length, brown above and brown-streaked whitish below; with a yellow beak and a large tail.
This western plantain-eater was my first spotting after settling down in my residence in Freetown. We are in a totally urban part of the city if you can really find a totally urban patch around... A very hilly and wooded area, where shackles mix freely with urban gardens and constructions. Restricted to the continent, his species is a resident breeder in open woodland habitats in tropical west Africa.
Sorry about that very blurry third pic, presented here simply because these three were all I got, and it was the only one showing actually some of the facial features... And hopefully, while I'm here, I may get lucky again and got some better shots.
