Toothpick Grasshopper

Mermiria sp.

Description:

Light green body with brown horns(?) on the top of the head like a unicorn :)

Habitat:

Found on the hood of my atv while driving through the woods. The woods were pretty thick and dominated by oaks, and the soil was fairly sandy. There is a lake and marsh close by

Thanks Tamar, that looks like it to me! And thanks for the suggestion turtlesandtombstones, but that species is not found in North America

It could be a nymph from genus Mermiria: http://bugguide.net/node/view/37547/bgim...
Beyond that I am not sure.

Nosed grasshopper? Acrida ungarica.
