Crepidotus cinnabarinus

Description:

A fairly rare species in the Crepidotus genus. It features a small, fan-shaped bright red fruiting body with pale yellowish gills. Fruiting body was 1cm. This is the first confirmed spotting for this species on Project Noah.

Habitat:

Growing on rotting wood in my kids' fort in a deciduous wooded area.

Thanks for your comments Leuba and Mark...The fort has indeed been invaded - lots of fungi and some squirrels that keep trying to move in, lol.
