Reddish Amanita

Amanita sp.

Description:

Cap was 6 cm wide and 5.5 cm wide. Spore print was white. Flesh turned red upon damage.

Habitat:

Growing alone in the oak grove in Mulick Park.

Notes:

Not sure if this is the same yellow species I found growing elsewhere in the park. Those mushrooms were bright yellow when young but this one, though turning yellowish, is clearly very red.
