Another warm welcome to Project Noah Mel11 and congratulations, your Blue-bellied Rollers are our Spotting of the Day!
Project Noah hosts plenty of spottings of other species of rollers but it's the very first time we get true wild blue-bellied rollers which were not spotted in a zoo or bird park.
"They stand out with their cream-colored heads and chests contrasting with a plumage otherwise dominated by blues and greens! These Blue-bellied Rollers (Coracias cyanogaster) are our Spotting of the Day. Blue-bellied rollers are found in western and central Africa. Like other rollers (family Coraciidae), blue-bellied rollers take their name from spectacular rolling dives used in courtship or to attack intruders".
