Hemitomes congestum

Description:

Coral pink flowers in a cone shape (sometimes called Cone Flower) with yellow centers to them crowded together (congestum).

Habitat:

Mossy forest floor in North Cascades, Rhododendron Flats trail in Manning Park, BC. Pacific Westcoast Rainforest. Lots of moss, evergreens.

Notes:

Only plant in its genus. Not found outside Western North America. The Latin name of the genus means half-sterile or half-eunuch because often half of the anther cells are sterile. Pojar and MacKinnon
