Black-bellied Plover

Pluvialis squatarola

Habitat:

Nests in Arctic lowlands on dry tundra. Winters on coastal beaches and estuaries. May use flooded pasture and agricultural land.

Notes:

Small flock of nonbreeding adults spotted on a semi exposed sand bar due to very low tide this morning. IDed mostly because of black "armpit" in flight. see pic 3
