Description:

The wood piegeon the largest of the European species. It is basically a grey bird (lighter over the back) with green-blue shimmering features, especially on the head and neck. Tail and wings have clear black markings and the chest is pink colored, underside more light gray. Furthermore, the bird has white spots on the sides of the neck and white band on the top of the wings. These are well visible in flight.
