The large dark spot in the center of the pronotum and the dark first to third antennal segments distinguish it from A. declivis according to BugGuide. First spotting of this species on Project Noah.

Habitat:

On low lying vegetation in a wooded area at the National Butterfly Center.

Notes:

Ranges from central Texas to Panama.
